SteelBlue’s Open Door: 2024 Second Quarter Review

Another quarter is in the books, and even with market headwinds, with respect to financing and permitting, we are continuing to experience rapid growth. This growth brings its own challenges, and I'd like to address some of the issues the construction industry faces and how the SteelBlue team is diligently working to resolve them.

First, technology has always been slow to adapt due to the need to change behaviors. Change is never easy, yet at SteelBlue, the successful integration of technology has been pivotal from the very beginning. In fact, technology is so deeply ingrained in every aspect of our business that you won't find any filing cabinets when you visit our office. Since we operate our business essentially paper-free it ensures efficient document management and eliminates the risk of document loss. Our ERP system also promotes a paper-free environment, holding everyone accountable and providing better visibility and communication through a single data reference point.

Let's now turn our attention to another significant challenge in the construction industry: labor shortages and a lack of skilled workforce. These issues can significantly impact project completion, but at SteelBlue, we're not just aware of these challenges - we're actively addressing them. We offer a turnkey installation service led by a veteran in the Self-Storage industry, aimed at streamlining projects and meeting our customers' needs from the initial design stages to final installation. This proactive approach, which includes training and development programs, not only saves time but also facilitates transparent communication as customers work directly with SteelBlue throughout the project life cycle.

Now, I’d like to take a moment to spotlight two departments that have been working on some exciting new things for you all:

  • Product Development – Our dedicated product team is continuously evolving our product line and is gearing up for an upcoming product launch at the SSA Conference & Trade Show. We encourage you to visit our booth #455 for an exclusive preview of our newest product addition. You won’t want to miss it!
  •  Marketing – Our Marketing Team has recently launched a podcast series called "Storage & Beyond Power Hour," featuring engaging discussions on emerging trends within the industry. It was a great first episode with Heath at Norco, and I invite you to listen and follow the series. If you or your company are interested in being a guest on the podcast, please message marketing@steelbluebc.com. We're also excited to welcome Alex Steele to the Marketing Team and look forward to her contributions to the brand elevation.

Amidst the challenges we have all faced so far this year, we thank you for your continued partnership, support, and interest in SteelBlue.  Building Tomorrow, Today…We Win Together!
