SteelBlue’s Open Door: 2023 First Quarter Review

It’s hard to believe Spring is upon us, and we have completed the first three months of 2023. As we head into April and the start of the next quarter, I am excited to share with you all the significant strides the SteelBlue Team has taken to keep up with the ever-demanding market. Since my last update, we have doubled in size as an organization and have shipped over 20,000 doors and associated hallway parts to 45 different Customers. Many of those Customers have placed repeat orders, and our growth has been tremendous over the past 12 months. We want to take this opportunity to thank those Customer partnerships that have helped us become the organization we are today.  As we continue to keep pace with this accelerated growth, I’m excited to share with you some of the exciting items the Team has been working on that will continue to add to the product and service offerings from SteeBlue in being your partner of choice for all your project needs.

First and foremost, we announced late last year that we would be expanding our operations due to our rapid growth. So, with much gratitude, I share with you all that we have officially begun the transition into our new 140,000 SF manufacturing facility located in Georgetown, KY. This new location is about 20 miles East of our previous location, and I want to share a humbling story that my Team and I experienced. There were many discussions on how to keep the manufacturing footprint located in Frankfort, KY, and many sleepless nights contemplating the risk that we were up against in potentially losing an incredible manufacturing team that was formed over the last six months. In addition, moving to a new location for many of our employees meant they would have a longer commute, need to re-evaluate childcare, and more. So, when we announced the relocation to Georgetown at the company Town Hall in January, there was an initial shock for most, but what speaks volumes to the leadership and culture that we have developed here at SteelBlue is that we are retaining 99% of our headcount. These employees are, and continue to be, the foundation of the company’s success, and I look forward to what they accomplish in the coming months and beyond. To date, they have been nothing short of incredible, and we are grateful for their commitment and dedication to SteelBlue and its Customers.

Next, we have just received our newest pieces of manufacturing equipment, allowing us to roll-form our panels with greater efficiency and add much needed capacity while providing you the option of the industry-standard roll-up curtain profile. I know many of you have been awaiting the arrival of this product, and we are excited to announce today our expanded product offering is ready to support your future projects. We look forward to the growth opportunities these pieces of equipment will provide to your business and ours.

Lastly, we have been heavily focused on leveraging technology to streamline our business operations to support our unwavering commitment to customer service. We recently launched our new ERP system, which allows us to manage our day-to-day business activities more effectively, affording better visibility and communication, both internally and, most importantly, externally. As a result, the ERP system ties directly to our new Customer Portal that will be launched in the coming months.  The Customer Portal allows you, the Customer, to see the real-time status of your projects/orders, from quote to shipment and every step in between. You will know the status of your orders at any time and will be able to know the projected ready date and when your product ships simply by logging in. Additionally, the system will send email notifications each step of the way. If you want to learn more about our Customer Portal, please get in touch with your local sales representative.

The Team and I are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months. We continue to invest in our growth and commitment to superior products and service while providing the best customer experience you deserve. Again, we thank you for your partnership, support, and continued interest in SteelBlue.  Building Tomorrow, Today…We Win Together!

Sincerely,
