At SteelBlue, our core values are the foundation of everything we do. Since our arrival in 2021, we've been committed to challenging the status quo in the building components industry, and our values have been the driving force behind our innovative approach.

We believe that a strong company culture is built on recognizing and celebrating those who embody our core values. That's why we're proud to introduce our Employee of the Quarter program, a key initiative designed to reinforce these values and inspire our team members to live them every day.

SteelBlue's Core Values

At SteelBlue, five core values guide our actions, decisions, and interactions:

The Employee of the Quarter Program

To strengthen the connection to our core values and celebrate the exceptional contributions of our team, we've launched a program that encourages every team member to get involved! Our Employee of the Quarter Nomination Program. This program is a cornerstone of our broader Core Values Campaign, designed to empower all of our employees to become active promoters of our values – cultivating them within ourselves and our colleagues, and recognizing and celebrating each other when we represent them.

Our Employee of the Quarter program is built on peer-to-peer recognition. We believe that our employees are best positioned to identify and celebrate the everyday heroes who bring our values to life.

Here's how it works:

  1. Before each Quarterly Town Hall meeting, we reach out directly to our team members through various methods, and hang posters around our Plant & Office locations, rallying our team to get involved and nominate their peers.
  2. Employees can nominate any colleague who they believe exemplifies one or more of our core values: Safety, Transparency, Collaboration, Inclusion, and Evolution.
  3. Our Leadership team reviews all nominations and selects a single Employee of the Quarter.
  4. The chosen Employee of the Quarter receives special recognition during our Town Hall, gets a shout-out on our social media channels and website, and receives a special gift as a thank you for their hard work and dedication to creating a positive company culture.

The Power of Peer Recognition
Peer recognition is a powerful tool in building a positive and supportive workplace culture. By celebrating those who live our values, we reinforce their importance and encourage everyone to strive for excellence. This program is designed to create a workplace where our values are more than just words on a wall, but actions that we see and celebrate every day.

Looking to the Future

Our commitment to a value-driven culture doesn't end here. We're excited about future plans to further integrate our core values into every aspect of SteelBlue.

  1. We're developing new modules for our training processes that will dive deeper into our core values, helping new and existing employees understand how to embody these principles in their daily work.
  2. Plans are underway to decorate our Plant and Office spaces with art and visuals that illustrate and speak to our values, creating an environment that reminds us of what we stand for.
  3. When we launch our new Employee Hub Page, we'll be adding a permanent Core Values Employee of the Quarter Nomination form and a Wall of Fame for everyone that was selected. This will allow our team to recognize their colleagues' outstanding contributions all year long.

These initiatives are reflective of our commitment to maintaining a value-driven culture. We believe that by continually reinforcing and celebrating our core values, we create a stronger, more unified team capable of delivering the exceptional results that our customers expect from us.
