I grew up in Texas and recently moved from Atlanta Georgia. My interests are Basketball, Football, Martial Arts, Boxing, Microbiology Science, and History. Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas.
I have a passion for culture inclusion safety and quality. I am here to serve is my saying that best represents my leadership. Here to serve is to be knowledgeable, resourceful, and driven to support all associates.
On August 6th, I began my journey with SteelBlue as the Safety Manager. My day to day consists of developing and ensuring safety regulations and compliance within the SteelBlue operation. Working with all associates to maintain a safe workplace and improve an even safer workplace environment.
I have been a Quality Manager, EHS Manager and Damage Control Manager individually throughout my career and have roles of all those positions combined into one as well.
Safety resonates for me the most for it being the most important in the workplace.
SteelBlue is a family, and I want to ensure that my family is always safe. Also, that we understand why safety is so important in our workplace and how we can always improve the 1# Core Value in our culture at SteelBlue.
The most prideful moments for myself are as I walk through the site many associates come to me showing how much safety means to them and how involved they want to be regarding Safety.
If I could switch roles with anyone it would be Matt Smith Production Manager and Thomas Vaughn Plant Manager not for their positions really what they bring to SteelBlue. If I could describe them both for how I view them for us it would be two words. The G.O.A.T at our site.
Being able to have Safety meetings with the site and upcoming Safety committee and have many discussions on our Safety culture. Having everyone involved and being able to show to all associates my commitment and dedication from them and associates knowing I am not just one of their leaders but also one whose support function for them is always the greatest feeling.
I enjoy giving back to our associates at our site whether it’s welcoming them to SteelBlue or any achievements they make. I always find ways to put a great spotlight on them and reward them for their endeavors. Being part of leadership, I find it important to acknowledge our associates for the dedication, commitment and hard work they give day in and day out.
