Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Where you grew up, interests, other bits about your life.

Hello, I'm Kelsey, a 23-year-old with a boundless enthusiasm for life. My greatest joy is being a mom to my wonderful three-year-old son. I hail from the charming small town of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, where the rolling hills and scenic beauty always make me feel at home.

While my days are largely devoted to caring for my son, I'm a firm believer in the importance of making time for life's adventures. You can often find me exploring the great outdoors, expressing myself through art with a paintbrush in hand, or soaking up the vibrant energy of a music festival.

What role do you have at SteelBlue? When did you start? What is your day to day like?

At SteelBlue, I serve as the Team Lead of the Axle Department. My journey with the company began on July 12, 2022, and I was later promoted to Team Lead in January. Each day in my role is a blend of challenges and rewards.

What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about your job?
SteelBlue has several core values: Safety, Collaboration, Transparency, Inclusion, and Evolution. Can you tell us which one resonates with you the most and why?

Among SteelBlue's core values, Inclusion resonates with me the most. As a young female leader, SteelBlue has provided me with the opportunity to showcase my leadership skills. I've honed my abilities in organization, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making for the benefit of the team.

What is the company culture like for you at SteelBlue?

SteelBlue's company culture is not just a set of words; it's a way of life. We don't merely talk about our core values; we live them each day. This commitment creates a true team atmosphere where we all work collaboratively towards a shared goal – satisfying our customers.

Can you tell us about a moment of pride that you felt while working for the company?

One of my proudest moments at SteelBlue was witnessing our entire team come together on a Saturday to address a potential quality issue. While it initially seemed like an insurmountable challenge, we proved that together, we could achieve the impossible. It was a defining moment when we realized the immense power of teamwork.

If you could swap roles with anyone at SteelBlue for a day, who would it be and why?

If given the opportunity, I would choose to swap roles with Rich Saginaw, our CEO, for a day. I'm curious to see how the various facets of manufacturing, sales, supply chain, and customer service seamlessly integrate to form our beautiful business. Witnessing customer satisfaction firsthand would also be incredibly enlightening.

Which work benefit or perk is your favorite and why?

The greatest perk of working at SteelBlue is undoubtedly the incredible team I have the privilege of working with every day. Meeting new people and collectively growing is why I can genuinely say that I love my career!

What are some fun facts about you that people should know about?

One fascinating aspect of my job is the sheer quantity of hardware my department manages. For every door we produce, my team meticulously accounts for all 40-50 individual parts. That translates to more than 12,000 nuts, bolts, and screws per day, all within the axle department alone!
