Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Where you grew up, interests, other bits about your life.

I grew up in Virginia Beach and visited Kentucky in 2006. I loved the beautiful scenery and decided to move here to the bluegrass state. I am now a proud mom of a two-year-old boy. When I am not working, I spend all my time with him, enjoying our moments together.

What role do you have at SteelBlue? When did you start? What is your day to day like?

I am the HR coordinator; I joined the team in September 2024. As an HR representative, I thrive in the dynamic nature of my role, where each day brings new challenges and opportunities. I  assist employees with their onboarding, manage benefits administration, and lead the recruiting process for new hires.

What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about your job?

A common misconception about Human Resources is that we only perform people-pleasing tasks. In reality, we often make tough decisions related to employee discipline, performance management, and terminations, balancing empathy with assertive decision-making.

SteelBlue has several core values: Safety, Collaboration, Transparency, Inclusion, and Evolution. Can you tell us which one resonates with you the most and why?

Transparency is important because it builds trust and accountability. Sharing information openly helps everyone understand the reasons behind decisions and actions. This openness makes people feel valued and allows them to take part more fully. When we are clear and honest, we strengthen relationships and work better together, which leads to greater success.

What is the company culture like for you at SteelBlue?

The culture at Steel Blue has been strong and impactful.

Can you tell us about a moment of pride that you felt while working for the company?

In my two months with Steelblue, I experienced true pride serving the Thanksgiving lunch and witnessing management distribute turkeys to the employees. My heart was full as I watched the employees smile and seeing how grateful they were.

If you could swap roles with anyone at SteelBlue for a day, who would it be and why?

I would choose to switch roles with Alecsandra in marketing. The world of marketing sounds like an exciting field—the thought of  creating new ideas and watching them come to life is exciting.

Which work benefit or perk is your favorite and why?

My favorite perk is being able to work from home on Fridays. I get to have my son at home and can get my work done while hanging out with him.

What are some fun facts about you that people should know about?

I love adventure. A few years ago, I went skydiving, and it was an amazing experience. Jumping from the plane and feeling the rush of wind as I fell was thrilling. The adrenaline made it one of the best moments of my life. The views from up high were also breathtaking.
